Fletcher,
You had quite an exciting first week. You did a great job at the hospital, learning to eat and sleeping lots. When they tested your bilirubin levels on the second night they were a little high so they had you hang out in the nursery under the blue lights. We still got to leave the next day because your levels hadn't gotten too high, but we had to make a dr. appt for the next day. When we went in to see Dr. Wirsig the next day you were pretty yellow, and your levels had gone way way up. She said we had to take you back to the hospital to spend more time under the blue lights. Mommy was really scared, but in the end it was a great experience. You did such a good job hanging out in your little light tent with the goggles on. The nurses all loved you so much, even though they had to clean up after you a ton since you peed all over everything every time mommy changed your diaper! After just one day your levels came down enough that we got to bring you home. Ever since you have been great, and no signs of yellow! In the grand scheme of things it was a minor incident, but it was scary for a little while. We are so thankful that you are happy and healthy now. We are so thankful that we have access to medical services that can give you what you need to be healthy. We are so thankful for our family and friends who not only helped practically (Nana and Papa dropping everything to come get Hazel so we could stay with you), but also by praying for you! We are so blessed.
We are so thankful for health!
Love you,
Mommy and Daddy
